Tele Vue Adpater to Use Dioptrx Astigmatism Correcting Lenses with all Type 6 Nagler Eyepieces

Tele Vue Adpater to Use Dioptrx Astigmatism Correcting Lenses with all Type 6 Nagler Eyepieces Reviews

This adapter will allow you to use Dioptrx Astigmatism Correcting Lenses with Type 6 Nagler eyepieces , because adding Dioptrx to Nagler Type 6 eyepieces makes the eye relief quite tight, we recommend this only for Deep-Sky use, whereyour eye pupil enlarges. Some users might need to back off and lose some field to avoid eyelashes contacting the Dioptrx lens. We do not recommend using Dioptrx with Nagler Type 6 eyepieces in the daytime or bino-viewer applications. (NOTE: All eyepieces with large eyeguards standard, such as Radians, 32mm Plossl and 8-24mm Zoom, can be comfortably used with bino-viewers when Dioptrx is attached). For normal operation of any of these eyepieces without Dioptrx, the adapter can be left permanently attached since operation with the provided larger eyeguard is quite comfortable.

TeleVue Nagler Telescope Eyepieces - TVU034-5

TeleVue Nagler Telescope Eyepieces - TVU034-5 Reviews

Take a "spacewalk" across the widest sharpest apparent field...Concept: You may know there's a long history of naming eyepieces after their designers: Kellner Erfle and Plossl to name a few. In the late 70's I designed an eyepiece sufficiently radical that I dared attach my name to it. Even today I must admit a little discomfort when talking about "Nagler" eyepieces. With "Naglers" my aim is to approach the wide angle perspective of naked eye vision while maintaining the highest degree of sharpness contrast and viewing comfort. The goal is to allow the telescope to virtually "disappear " leaving the impact of "spacewalk" viewing. -Al NaglerFollowing are excerpts from the book The Backyard Astronomer by Dickenson & Dyer: "Al Nagler of Tele Vue caused a sensation when he introduced the Nagler in 1982. The Nagler's success can be attributed to two important innovations: an extremely wide apparent field of 82 degrees with outstanding sharpness and exceptionally comfortable eye relief for eyepieces of very short focal length...He designed his melding of eyepiece and Barlow to operate as a single unit; that is the aberrations of one cancel out the aberrations of the other producing exquisitely sharp images edge to edge over an unprecedentedly wide field of view. Nagler's background of optical-systems design for visual flight simulators and his interest in amateur astronomy created the perfect match for this breakthrough."Compare a penny to a half dollar to see the relative size between a 50 degree and 82 degree apparent field - almost 3 times the area difference! And while others boast of impressive apparent field sizes Tele Vue's philosophy of "showing no field unless it's fine" stresses full field image quality as the ingredient for impressive views. Blackened lens edges anti-reflection threads and rubber eyeguards deliver maximum contrast. Adapter skirts for 2" focusers on larger 1.25" models (12mm Nagler Type 4 and 22mm Panoptic) and rubber grip rings are additional

TeleVue ETHOS Telescope Eyepieces - TVU098-1

TeleVue ETHOS Telescope Eyepieces - TVU098-1 Reviews

Tele Vue is known for its in-house eyepiece and telescope designs by Al Nagler; our latest eyepiece brings new meaning to the term in-house. The concept for this eyepiece was first proposed by Tele Vue President David Nagler with performance parameters giving it the fundamental characteristics (the ethos) of a Tele Vue eyepiece: high contrast comfortable eye relief and full field sharpness. Control of astigmatism field curvature lateral color angular magnification distortion correction and low pupil sensitivity for daytime use were specified criteria.Following Tele Vue s philosophy of pushing the state of the art long-time Tele Vue employee and optical design prot g Paul Dellechiaie took up the challenge and designed the basic eyepiece form. Under Al s guidance Paul tweaked his design to fulfill the original goals. While sharpness is inherent to the optical design contrast is maximized through the intelligent use of flat finished baffles and ultra low reflectance high efficiency coatings tuned to the composition of each element. At the 2007 Northeast Astronomy Forum Tele Vue once again broadened the amateur astronomer's perspective on the universe and introduced a new observing experience; 100 of pure Tele Vue quality. With a 13mm focal length evoking the original Nagler revolution the field area of this new eyepiece is more than 50% larger than an 82 field. The Tele Vue Ethos is essentially multiple eyepieces delivering the true field size of a longer focal length narrower apparent field eyepiece with the benefits of higher power and darker sky background.
